Does art n entertainment reshape and influence the world in a positive or negative way?
WE HAVE TO LOOK AT THE OUTCOME
Music and entertainment shape influence and affect the world in both a positive as well as a negative way and it is by design that the world is indeed affected in a negative manner
UNDERSTANDING THE AFFECTS OF MUSIC ON THE BRAIN
1) Regulates feelings and mood
2) How you feel affects how you perform and make decisions
3) Music also affects areas of the brain responsible for planning, emotions, and rewards thus releasing the feel good chemical dopamine
4) These are reward regions of the brain usually and traditionally linked to food, sex, being in love .. etc .. in which the hypothalamus is incorporated..
UNDERSTANDING THE SCIENCE OF THE AFFECTS OF MUSIC ON PPL
There are actual neuro scientists that actually do studies on how our brains respond to music ( remember ) there is energy, there is frequency and there is vibration upon which everything is encompassed and upon which everything is controlled ) ..
There are even a few that understand one of the most important elements within the influences of music would definitely be that of Rhythm as it would be considered the most basic and fundamental aspect of music especially if you want to control the dynamics of one’s conscious .. as well is subconscious ..because it is said that if you take away all of the harmonies, scales, keys, chords, melodies etc.. that you would still be left with music if left with just the rhythm section alone..
OUR BRAINS ON RHYTHM
We have a very unique human response to this kind of vibration as it differs from the response you might see within the animal kingdom and also what goes on inside our brain as we are listening to rhythm .. one of the fascinating things about rhythm is it is undeniably most oftentimes associated with movement .. it is a cultural as well as universal language found in just about every human society .. for example you look at a lightning bug which is able to somehow bio luminescence it appears to have a synchronous form to it within the guidelines of modality as does a Cricket sounding off within a similar modality however humans can do something very distinct beyond the scope of just modality .. we can take entire sound and place complex movement to it and synchronize it to a sound and maintain rhythm without the use of modality as it is not required ..
Hearing sound and setting up your own internal rhythm and use the internal representation to initiate movement before any sound had occurred at all then we carry on using the internal representation when we apply movement to this occurrence .. this entertainment is what is used to lend different dynamics thus allowing you to respond to different variables of emotions the music is supposed to convey to you .. this is not something we have to be trained in we are born inherent with these abilities ..
BRAIN RESPONSES TO RHYTHM Neuro test implemented
Stimulated was auditory cortex activity located right by the ears are responsible for processing of sound so is to be expected however when peering a closer look at proper analysis we see that also stimulated are the areas of the brain which are responsible for the processing of movement so they are involved in the selection control and initiation of movement called also motor areas .. now in these tests these motor areas are stimulated whilst hearing the music even tho the participant in the study has no intention of moving any part of their physicality.. a very interesting finding .. supplementary motor area up in the middle, pre-motor area off to the side and the Basil Ganglia which lies deep within the brain .. this happens within the context of melodic sequences as well as rhythm ..
This suggests that music is not just about sound however fundamentally about movement ( vibration ) frequency and ( energy ) why is this important , because this would lend the possibility for therapeutic applications because what we now know we can do is take music and spin it and use it to change activity in motor areas of the brain .. do you see where i am going with this one .. ?
1) Motor areas of the brain are commonly affected by stroke as well as degenerate diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s
2) In Parkinson’s one will have difficulty initiating movement, as well as being unsteady or freezing , or moving slower
Music has the power to evoke memory ..
*Darwin thought music and dance to do with sex fitness finding a partner ..
*Others thought music to be important when communicating with young infants in their fiurst few moths of being born before they learn how to use language and be able to speak ..
*Language is a processed on the left side of the brain wherein music has a more right hemisphere bias .. music also activates pathways within a complex structure called the lymbic system .. it is beneath the surface of the brain and is involved in learning memory and emotional responses as well ..
MUSIC also ACTIVATES regions within the frontal part of the cortex that are also activated when you perform cooperative altruistic acts which is simply placing someone else’s welfare above your Own ..
WHY MUSIC IS IMPORTANT TO OUR SURVIVAL
Music has an impact on your immune system can also help in the treatment of developmental disorders such as autism also in rehabilitation therapy to improve mood and motor performance…
Is an effective therapy that should be widely used in the medical community.. also should be used widely in the field of education acumen as well and this might be the most important area in which it should be implemented as it has has been proven through extensive amounts of research that at least some musical education has a positive impact on social and cognitive development of children ..
These affects are long lasting .. better hearing motor skills improved memory lasting through to old age .. better verbal and literacy skills at math and science and reasoning skills .. in social music making there is a positive impact on the way children interact at the social level including children from diverse backgrounds and cultures ..
Very important yet it is disappearing from the curriculum from most parts of the western world as it’s importance is not recognized as it is thought of more as just an art form separate from science and hence quarantined from the 24/7 work issues that compel us to not take notice.. it was not always this way .. in fact indigenous populations they still practice this within education ..
MUSIC BONDS US
In ways that language rarely does it is a social communication that has helped us to come and work together .. we forget our individual fears worries and concerns .. we become in a word Connected ..
DOPAMINE is also involved in other pathways which include
Processing information about motivation attention movement and addiction .. when imaging the brain areas that are active when you are performing social tasks one that requires empathy and understanding ones feelings .. those areas are the same as those that are activated when you are listening to pleasurable music .. the levels of hormone oxytocin are raised in the bloodstream when ppl are singing together in particular when musicians are improvising together .
Oxytocin is a hormone associated with .. trust .. empathy.. and relationship building.. our sensitivity to pain is also reduced as our levels of the stress hormone Cortisol .. so music is the social glue that clearly enhances our sense of mental well being..
MODERN MUSIC IS AWFUL BECAUSE :
Because it adheres to the same cookie cutter formula wherein it draws you in because of its overt familiarity that is offered you because of redundance whether it be the same drum machine, the same undertone of rhythm the same chords and or underlying melody or pitch etc .. music is losing it’s artistry and creative aspect due to this very concept ..
Most of the ppl belting out songs nowadays have no real education of music as a lot of new musics construction is done using electronics as opposed to real musicians hence lacking feel, timbre, velocity, fluctuation and variance in tonal and chordal melodies as well as tone and ambience in which anyone that understands music understand the importance of these very important elements when appeasing to ones emotional senses by way of song ..
Music is devolving .. as there was a study that imposed researchers that studied the phenomenon of music being on a decline and getting worse , wherein they took half a million recordings from all genres of music from 1955 to 2010 and meticulously ran all songs through a set of complex algorithms which measured 3 distinct metrics of each gong which were
1) Harmonic complexity
2) Timbral diversity
To find that timbre, and or texture in depth, integrity had been compromised of which in the 60’s before it’s decline were when it was at it’s height .. hence the timbral palette has been homogenized and modified not leaving room for much diversity ..
Modern music doesn’t suck. Mainstream music does. Don’t confuse between those 2 ( distinct differences between the 2 )
2 WRITERS YOU MAY NOT HAVE HEARD OF: Intentionally
Max Martin : from Sweden
Lukasz Gottwald : American
you probably never heard of them and this is intentional .. they are the hidden weapon factory of digital music nonsense that is being replicated .. and as our attention spans have drastically shortened the hooks are being used in songs much earlier and at more intervals to encapsulate us and hypnotize us .. because unless a song immediate captivates us .. our brain kind of just shuts off and ignores it .. often skipping on to the next song .. most notably because of so many songs available to us within a milli second of pressing a button ..
so now we literally are wanting catchy songs with punchy baselines and catchy electronic rhythm section with pretentious hooks throughout the music .. also there is what is called dynamic range compression .. wherein you boost the sound within variables of the song that are usually the quieter parts of the song in that they now match the louder parts .. well there is a kind of competition in this among producers but it is a powerful tool as we appear to be in control since we obviously control the volumes of our own devices however we are not paying attention to the very specific details or how we are affected by them either .. this process is called DYNAMIC RANGE
COMPRESSION .. this strips away at timbral variety and causes loss of quality and affects song dynamics and principles ..
Humanity says they want to believe that his art will be used in a positive light ..
so then he will not sell out to something other and give his soul to the devil per say .. see how i get blamed for all of mans sick goofs ..
